Here is a recap of what I studied last week with Good Morning Girls.
Luke 6 ~ Sometimes we have to go through a season of learning, of input–this is the first step in acquisition. Then, we must apply and put it into practice. My verse of the year is Luke 6:46, “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” What does Jesus say? To love God with all our heart and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Go. Do. When we fail, get up and do again.
Luke 7 ~ I love Jesus’ response to the Pharisee who doubted Jesus was a prophet simply because if He knew who the woman was, He certainly wouldn’t want her touching Him. Yes, He would. He did. And He saw her heart and loved her. Like He loves you. Me. Glory to God!
Luke 8 ~ I LOVE this parable! I feel like I have lived each of these types of faith. I am so thankful that God pulled the rug out from under me and made me lean on Him to have the faith I have today. I have been rescued and carried through deep waters. I know His faithfulness, and He is why my faith is so deep today!
Luke 9 ~ I have heard this story and read this story so many times, and I gotta be honest, it hadn’t affected me so much for awhile. But it does today. Where God guides, He will provide. He will provide abundantly, more than we could fathom possible. I have seen it in my life and trust in Him. Glory to God!
Luke 10 ~ Jesus was clear: Love God with all our hearts and love our neighbors as ourselves. LOVE is the key word. It’s so so hard sometimes. Okay, a lot of the time. But we gotta do it. This is a good reminder as I head to a weekend school trip with 24 students from my school and 3 other schools in my district. 🙂
