When I can’t find what I want, I create!
Rewind to last week when I realized I could easily finish the New Testament in my ESV Bible by the end of June (why not, right?) and decided I wanted to read the Old Testament July-December. Well… I went on a search and could not find a 6 month Old Testament plan. What?!
It’s true, I could find 6 month New Testament plans (I even created one myself) as well as 6 month entire Bible reading plans. I could find a 90-day Old Testament plan but nothing for 6 months. Even YouVersion let me down.
But that’s okay! I created plans before, why not create my very own 6-month Old Testament Bible reading plan. So I did!
Here’s my 6 Month Old Testament Bible Reading Plan in 2 formats
To be honest, I’ve already read a lot of Psalms, all of Genesis and Exodus so I probably will finish 3-4 weeks early. I’m not even sure I am going to read in order of the books–I’ve recently read some in my One Year Bible Reflections so I may start near the end and work backwards. Who knows where God will take me on this Old Testament journey, but I’m excited to have a place to highlight my progress as I read!
Are you going to complete the 6 Month Old Testament Bible Reading Plan this year? Are you going to complete one of my other plans? Let me know in the comments and tag me on Instagram if you post a picture of any of my Bible plans. I’d love to come love on your post!
Thanks for this! There are parts of the Old Testament I’ve never been because Ive read it rather haphazardly and then stopped. This should really help me get on.
Not sure whether my other comment reached you but just in case, thank you for creating this! It should really help me along in reading the Old Testament fully.
Thank you for creating this plan. I looked everywhere for a 6 month plan through the Old Testament, I could not find one. God bless you for providing this resource.
